In the 50+ books I've published, I have championed originality, creativity, and a lust for raw adventure.
I've written a great deal of fiction and non-fiction, with my work encompassing travel quests, mainstream fiction, fantasy, novellas, stories, folklore, and journalism.
Although I'm published throughout the world by some of the most recognised publishers, I champion self-publishing, and encourage people to write for themselves.
I have made documentaries, which have been screened on National Geographic TV, The History Channel etc.

On Sir Richard Burton's Arabian Nights
I am Amazigh myself from Rif region. I still remember when I was a kid we had a door, a second door. I don't even if there a name to it in English. Because we use a different architecture that we have an open space inside which has the main door in the big house but also the individual doors leads to different rooms and kitchen, animal rooms. Animals where living inside the house but with different rooms. So I remember we had this main door which looks exactly as this one. Superficial people listen, read what the regimes represent to them, But deep and smart people like you see what is beyond that. Our culture is beyond what is told by the Europeans and their pan-arab theocratic dictatorships puppets. They lie like they breathe.
haven't seen Tahir in a while He must be writing a new book or is traveling Whattaya think?
looking forward to his next item
What a magical home!
are you high, tahir?
This is called “palahenk stone”. Those stars are given to Dervishes. One of their relics. The star has 12 corners that represents the main perspectives of god. That means; when they treat, they must remember, truth(god) just can be figured out from 12 perspectives. So that they don’t miss any side while sowing seeds to bloom
Oh wow, didn't know that My life from Brigand to King was written by Sirdar Shah!
This is great! After reading about the district in The Caliph's House, to get to see it! Thanks, Tahir❤
I know it's a bit of a mess but it's also a part of Moroccan history which will be swept away. The walls of the animal pens look ancient.. Whatever happens, I hope the people can continue to live in the way they wish. Thanks Tahir and family for all these amazing glimpses of Casablanca ✨
Fantastic! Did your father write the biography of Gerald Gardner under the pseudonym of J L Bracelin?
thank you!
When I last travelled to Morocco it was with 2 friends. While in Algeciras Spain we started to argue about when to go to Morocco…so we decided to add a “4th man”, circumstance, to our decision making. Within an hour we had met 3 gentleman from Tangiers, we travelled over with them, were invited for lunch, found one of them worked with the King, were introduced to a group in Tangiers, got invited to gatherings…the magic of Morocco washed over us. No plans, open hearted and open handed.
Bravo, John!
I guess Turkey could be the next best thing…their food & history looks marvelous.
I never knew that “travels in the unknown east” by John Grant, was him.
I was under the impression that was Idries Shah.
It'd be really nice if his books were re-published... :)
You can still get original copies of most of them on Abe.
@@carlgrove8793 thanks!
Thank you Tahir❤
Brilliant 👏
Love it...
Thanks Tahir. Love your books and these clips are great. Please continue❤
thank you! always enjoy your tour/travel vids 👍 🌎🌍
Berber culture…wow….interesting, this could be a subject for new book.
If Egypt could close the Suez Canal we could stop WWII in just days
I’m reading your book now. Fascinating! Are you still living there?
Love Tahir Shah, great books for interesting reading. ❤
I agree about what you say about "The Arabian nights", but I must ask what the manuscript help between glass is? It seems to be written in some Indian or SE Asian script.
Absolutely! I think it's because we expect a certain type of opportunity and that it will come from a certain direction. You kind of need to suspend normal thinking.
it’s surprising what you can do when you keep at wiggling, jiggling & playing with things in life. ever know how something works, & you give it to someone who doesn’t, & they quit quickly & say it won’t work?…just keep trying…you’re closer as you go. no kicks = no goals ⚽️ 🥅
Looked it up out of interest ..... seize the opportunity - occasionem arripio
ghaddar of pashtoon
The World Tales were very popular, but we had an old paperback copy of his collection of Mullah Nasruddin stories, too. Wonderful lessons!
Thank you, for sharing your experiences with us. they are like morsels of food to helps us along the path...
Thank you sincerely
It is an absolutely stunning mosaic/fountain.
what would be an effective way to find a story one has read but can’t remember the title of, perhaps an index? search engines are sometimes helpful, other times not so much.
I believe Shah never added an index to any of his books, so I assume that trying to recall specific stories or discussions is part of the teaching method.
Right on. The stories work on a deep unconscious level, much as in Ericksonian hypnosis. Erickson used to make up stories in his hypnotic inductions for his clients.
Your father was the single greatest influence on my life. You must have been very lucky. His teaching stories had an overwhelming effect here as well. Thank you for publishing.
And on mine, or at least the best influence!
The Caliph's House was recommended to me when I was struggling to cope with my first move to Tangier in 2012... it changed my perspective, lit up my life and the rest is history... loved the book, truly!
you reached your target! the caliphs house changed my life just as much as In arabian nights did!
Beautiful & functional
Great and beautiful! Thanks!
I find the story behind a found treasure is equal to the find itself. This takes the cake because it's a funk buster as well, the gift that keeps on giving. Thanks for sharing I enjoyed it.
❤
Hii Mr. Out of Indian... 🙏First you should be come in their General Darshans & Aarti Darshans to experience what is reality. You've to take take experience on yourself then say anything about them, not just internet basis ok? 🙏
How extraordinary, those inspired intuitive geometric patterns !
Loved his books and wisdom. "Learning how to Learn" is one of the best books on education. And his Nasrudin stories were wonderful.
It's brilliant!
It is truly a thing with a soul and spirit and more..
Magnificent workmanship.
❤
A Heavenly abode for an Angel😁💯🥂👌🌟💕
